Join us for a fun and inspiring musical experience at the inaugural Adult Amateur Day hosted by the Seattle Flute Society! This event was created for adult amateur flute players and enthusiasts to perform for and receive insights from Karla Flygare, our distinguished guest adjudicator.

There are both solo or ensemble slots available; you can pick whichever suits your interests best. Register in advance to perform either as a soloist or with friends in an ensemble of up to 6 people. Karla Flygare will provide personalized feedback through both spoken and written comments and suggestions. The adjudications will be open to the public but solo/ensemble performers must pre-register here.

    Schedule

    9:15 Check-in opens

    9:30-12:30 Adjudications with Karla Flygare

12:30-12:50 Seattle Flute Choir performance - refreshments available downstairs for purchase.

12:50-1:30 Community Flute Choir Reading Session

    Eligibility

Any flute player over 18 who does not make a living performing flute or teaching flute lessons is eligible to sign up for an adjudication slot. There is no minimum level of skill required - all flute enthusiasts are welcome.

You are welcome to bring your collaborative pianist and perform with piano, but it is not required. Flute alone or flute and piano counts as a solo, any other combination (2 flutes, or flute/clarinet/piano, etc) counts as an ensemble. Performance must be 7 minutes or less; adjudication will be 7 minutes.
